Who says roller skating is a thing of the past? Not my 6 year old son, who has taken up an interest in it and has actually gotten really good at it! So about a month ago I told him that there are places called skating rinks that are set up just for roller skating and ever since he has been really intrigued. Yesterday, he reminded me of my promise to take him to a skating rink and made me hold to it. It led me to going online and looking at the skating rinks in my area, the closest being Paradise Skate in Antioch, CA. While perusing their website, I learned about the Kids Skate Free program that I had never heard of before. I was shocked I hadn’t heard of it before! We knew about the Kids Bowl Free because we used that a lot over the past couple of summers. Maybe it’s because skating isn’t as popular as it once was?
Anyways, I was able to sign up and select the closest skating rink in my area and every Sunday, they will send me coupons for my children to skate free during the week! How awesome is that?! There are restrictions on the days and hours that the coupons are good for. In my case, our skating rink gives coupons for free skating on Wednesdays and Fridays only. But, hey, it’s better than nothing, right?!
Even though we had to pay for our skating yesterday, my son had a great time and found the spot where he wants to have his next birthday – win, win!
