We are always looking for fun and new things to do with the kids, without spending a fortune. One thing we always have on the calendar are the FREE workshops offered by Home Depot and Lowes! NOW is the time to sign up for workshops at both locations, before spots fill up! This Saturday, November 7th, kids can build a Veteran’s Day Jet at Home Depot. There is also a workshop on Saturday, November 28th at Home Depot to build a School House Bank. On Saturday, November 14th, kids can build a Pullback Car at Lowe’s!
Here are more details about both programs:
The first Saturday of every month, Home Depot hosts their FREE kid’s workshops from 9am-12pm at the store. You can go here to view the upcoming projects and sign up if you are interested. In the past, my son has made things like a truck, bug catcher, mini sled, mini pallets, and more! They provide an apron, a kit that includes instructions, nails and wood to complete the project, and paint. You build the project in the store with the hammers and glue they have available. At the completion of the projects, they give the kids a certificate with their name on it along with a pin. The recommended ages for this workshop is 5-12. I have brought both my 3 and 6 year olds and I usually have to help them both with the projects – but it is a lot of fun and my kids enjoy the craft they get to bring home.
Lowes also offers a Build & Grow kid’s workshop program. I personally haven’t tried Lowe’s workshops, simply because registration always seems to fill up quickly – so I would recommend signing up the first day registration opens on any of the projects you may be interested in.
